About

Hi!  I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a Registered Art Therapist.  I firmly believe that healing and growth happens best when we feel connected to others and the world around us.  Human connection is such an integral part of the therapeutic process.  Here's more about myself and my background to help you guide your decision about starting therapy.

I have provided individual and group art therapy with children, adolescents and their families for over 11 years at various settings including schools, an inpatient hospital and private practice.  I have experience counseling children, adolescents and adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), developmental delays and sensory processing issues.  I have also provided counseling to children, adolescents and adults with anxiety disorders, mood disorders and social and emotional challenges.

In my sessions, I emphasize the power of the human connection throughout the therapeutic process.  I use the creative process of art making to allow for healing, growth, and discovery.  I graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Counseling: Art Therapy from Adler University in Chicago in 2011 and provided group art therapy at an inpatient hospital that helped all ages.  I also provided art therapy at a therapeutic preschool during this time.  After moving to Raleigh in 2013, I began working in private practice helping children, adolescents and their families navigate life's challenges.

When I'm not working, I'm spending time with my husband, 3 kids and 2 cats.  Along with my art making, I try to spend my time reading, running, and doing yoga.
